State-run Land Bank of the Philippines will open eight more branches and extension offices in the next eight months to bring its branch network to 360 by yearend.
In a statement, Landbank said it already opened last March two branches in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte as well as Caticlan, Aklan.
Landbank said it would next open new branches in Binalonan, Pangasinan and San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
For the rest of the year, six more branches will be opened in the following areas: Balamban, Cebu; Koronadal and Tupi in South Cotabato; Lopez, Quezon; Silang, Cavite; as well as Tubigon, Bohol, Landbank said.
“This is in keeping with our thrust to better serve Landbank’s growing clientele and further expand our reach, especially to unbanked sectors in underserved areas,” president and chief executive Alex V. Buenaventura said.
Landbank noted it was the only bank that has branches in all of the country’s provinces.
Also, Landbank said it planned to install this year 25 more cash deposit machines—lobby-type machines that can accept both card-based as well as card-less cash deposits—on top of the 87 existing units.
Landbank will also increase its ATM network to 1,784 by end-2017 from 1,646 as of last month, it added. —BEN O. DE VERA
