Mitsubishi posts record monthly sales in March

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) sold 6,822 units in March, marking its highest monthly retail sales volume ever attained in spite of the severe competition now in the automotive industry.

In a statement, MMPC said that its sales in March this year went up 38.3 percent compared to the same month last year as passenger car, light commercial vehicle and truck and bus sales increased. This was also 43.8-percent higher than the sales in February of 4,745 vehicles.

This brought total sales in the first quarter of the year to 16,509 units, increasing 12.6 percent from the same period last year.

MMPC noted that the Montero Sport sold 2,007 units in March, its highest monthly sales ever.
