No less than 1,000 booths from 16 countries occupied a total of 60,000 sqm of exhibition space across three of Manila’s premier convention venues— namely the World Trade Center Manila, Philippine Trade Training Center, the SMX Convention Center—for the 22nd Worldbex.
Worldbex 2017, which was held from March 15 to 19, also exceeded its own foot traffic record as it welcomed 192,000 local and foreign visitors.
Golden age
As the government eyes to fulfill the successful completion of nearly 5,000 projects across the country by 2022, the construction and design industry is gearing up to herald the “golden of infrastructure.”
Worldbex has again played a key role in inspiring and fostering innovation and ingenuity that the sector needs to embark on its most ambitious feat yet, especially as it urges the community to take part in its aim of “Building Bolder Perspectives.”
Apart from being the biggest convergence of the industry’s top movers and shakers, unique to Worldbex 2017 was its array of highlights that aim to provide the community with the latest and most relevant information, product presentations, and trend reports from around the world.
Among these pocket events were the Worldbex Lab, an exhibit of the industry’s most outstanding innovations from select exhibitors; the Interior Designers Gallery, which featured unique design interpretations from the country’s leading interior designers; the Architects Gallery where guests were able to pick the brains of influential architects and their firms; and the Furniture Gallery, where visitors saw a wide array of customizable and ready-built furniture for all kinds of spaces.
Platforms of knowledge
Also featured at this year’s show were the highly engaging Worldbex Seminars and the first ever Worldbex Minicons—a three-day conference which was presented in partnership with different industry associations including the Philippine Institute of Architects, Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, and Philippine Institute of Interior Designers.
Worldbex also sought to be a venue of discovery as it remained committed in delivering an all-inclusive trade experience for its visitors.
In line with this vision, the DELAXX Competition was held to showcase unique landscape architectural works.
Also featured were free business matching services, and international pavilions which housed exhibitors from countries including Australia, Austria, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Spain, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam.
