Breathtaking views of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range and the Metro Manila Skyline from Timberland Heights – Walk of Faith: Holy Week 2017 expects to draw in hordes of believers through the 14 Stations of the Cross set amidst Timberland Heights’ meditative scenic views.
The quiet, reflective calm of Timberland Heights’ suburban mountains will provide the idyllic setting for prayer and meditation this Lenten Season as Filinvest stages the Stations of the Cross amid its rugged terrain, lush foliage, panoramic views, and crisp highland breeze just 15 kilometers from Quezon City.
Rediscovering One’s Faith
Dubbed as “Walk of Faith,” this religious-inspired activity in Timberland Heights will feature the 14 Stations along a hillside path, some 350 meters above sea level, with some of the most breathtaking views of the Metro Manila Skyline, Laguna de Bay, Tagaytay Ridge, and the Sierra Madre Mountain Range. It will be open to all visitors free of charge on all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays of Lent from March 3 to April 16, 2017; from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Now on its fourth year, the Walk of Faith will kick off from the township gate, going up the adjacent Pondopo hill.
Through this initiative, Timberland Heights is looking to draw in the faithful and help in the prayerful reflection on the passion of Jesus in a whole new setting. This Lenten pilgrimage is envisioned to be an annual spiritual retreat ushering in the St. John Paul II Church.
Inspired by the Thorncrown Chapel in Arkansas, the highly-anticipated St. John Paul II Church is set to become the township’s epicenter of faith and a gathering place for pilgrims from all over. Blending in with the beauty that surrounds it, water from the baptistery will flow to a mountainside lake, symbolizing grace pouring down from heaven in a tranquil setting that naturally inspires meditation and devotion.
