Google has once again topped Fortune magazine’s 20th annual list of the “100 Best Companies to Work For,” retaining its place as one of the most coveted employers on the planet.
The rankings, based on employee surveys of more than 232,000 workers among more than 1,000 companies, consider company culture, employee engagement, fairness and talent development, as part of the overall assessment, among other factors.
Google, which boasts free gourmet food, haircuts and laundry service for its employees, among many other perks, has been voted the “number one” place to work by Fortune a total of eight times over 11 years, and the past six years consecutively.
The internet giant, which recently increased parental leave, is one of 12 companies in total which have made the ranking every year since the list began 20 years ago.
Fortune’s list in 2017 also welcomed five newcomers: Pinnacle Financial Partners, SAP America, Delta Air Lines, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, and AT&T.
