All signs are pointing to a brighter year ahead.

The Philippine construction and design industry is well poised for another year of continued growth and expansion, as the country enters into what has been dubbed as the Golden Age of Infrastructure.

And there is no reason not to believe that, with the Philippine government earmarking some P7 trillion (about $144 billion) for the country’s infrastructure sector over the next several years, and local real estate firms launching new projects to cater to a growing demand.

According to the Philippine Infrastructure Report by BMI Research issued in January, the country’s construction sector is expected to sustain a healthy growth up to 2021, on the back of this administration’s infrastructure plan.

Forecasts by BMI Research—a Fitch Group company that provides independent analysis and forecasts on countries, industries and financial markets—showed that the Philippine construction sector may grow to P1.09 trillion for this year alone, and to as much as P1.73 trillion by 2021.

The sector’s contribution to GDP is also seen to grow steadily from 6.8 percent this year to 7.3 percent by 2021.

The 22nd edition of Worldbex will be held from March 15 to 19.

Innovation, excellence

Playing a role in the continued growth of the construction and design industry are the different brands that have exemplified a strong sense of innovation, and a steadfast commitment to excellence.

The industry also owes part of its economic triumph to brands and companies that inspire progress and elevate standards by producing high quality products and premium services in their respective fields.

Among the industry’s most notable brands include Panasonic, which impressed the market when it released the country’s first “National” brand television set.

Throughout the years, this multi-awarded brand remains at the forefront of appliance technology with its state-of-the-art home appliances, electronics and electrical systems, commercial refrigerator and airconditioning systems that are well-designed and durable.

Similarly, Boysen is a multi-awarded company known for delivering high quality and innovative paint products, while Puyat Steel Corp. has become an influential industrial force, given its pioneering efforts in sheet galvanizing and modern flooring technologies.

Also a gamechanger in its trade is SCG Marketing, which has brought to the table countless innovations such as fiber cement, gray cement, and other roofing products.

Other brands and firms that have constantly pushed the boundaries in the field of construction and design include Mariwasa, one of Asia’s top tile manufacting company; Neltex, which manufactures high grade sewer pipes and systems; United Steel Tech, which produces colored roofing, steel deck, and bended accessories; and Firefly Electric and Lighting Corp. with its lighting system and other electrical devices.

Worldbex is set to provide participants a myriad of choices.
