Whirlpool Supports Local Communities through Nutrition Drive

It has been increasingly hard for working parents to provide nutritious food for their children. Because of this, Whirlpool, the leading appliance brand of home appliances, and a company dedicated to making the world a little easier, organized a nutrition drive at Lapu-Lapu Elementary School in Tondo, Manila.

At present, majority of underprivileged Filipino families—with the parents mostly working two or more jobs to make ends meet—do not have enough resources to feed their children properly. While we, as a country, are taking small steps to improve this condition, Whirlpool hopes to make an impact on local communities by supporting the proper nourishment of children through this series of feeding programs that they will be conducting.

“Whirlpool has distinguished itself as a brand designed for families and has always been about making their lives more convenient and practical whenever they use a Whirlpool product,” says Joy Catiis-Cruz, Marketing Manager of Whirlpool Philippines.

“Through this nutrition drive and other CSR programs that Whirlpool organizes, we aim to bring the message across that Whirlpool not only prides itself for its long-standing heritage and excellence in the home appliance industry, but more importantly, also signals the company’s thrust to elevate and improve the quality of life of Filipinos,” explains Cruz.

In partnership with The Rotary Club of Manila (Bonifacio Drive), this event was made possible through the generous support of King Sue Ham and Sausages, Jolly Cow Fresh Milk, and Sterling Paper.
