The holiday break offers time for merrymaking and the perfect opportunity to spruce up our homes and our lives. Here are a few tips to ensure you welcome the New Year on a happier note.
1 Clean up the mess.
Throw away all the clutter. Make sure to part ways with things that do not serve more than the purpose of being reminded of “past events.” The best memories should be kept in our hearts. You may take pictures and load up an album in your Facebook accounts and aptly call it “my ex.”
2 Rearrange furniture. You may want to move a chair from one corner to another in your living room for a change in perspective. Or you can hang your TV set to a wall and remove the desk for more space to move about. New year, new look.
3 Highlight the “focal wall.” You may choose a bare wall in your house and cover it with bright paint, a wall tile, or wall paper to spice up the interiors of the house and allow it to make you feel more alive. A small cost for a great new feel.
4 Invest in a good bed set. A tired body deserves a good night’s rest. Make sure you have a fine foam to lie on, matched with great bed sheets, clean, cool pillows and nicely quilted comforters.
5 Love, work, play, rest and pray. Nothing beats the combination of having a heart that beats for love and work; an active, healthy body that plays and moves about; a mind that finds time to take a breather; and a soul that meditates.
