Making good on its promise to give back to their loyal subscribers, Philippine telecommunications giant Smart Communications launched a more rewarding and fulfilling digital lifestyle—in the form of bigger data allocation and generous perks this coming holiday season.

Smart Wireless Operations Head Kat Luna-Abelarde, during the company’s latest Unbox event at the second Smart Flagship Store at SM Annex in North EDSA, announced a series of exciting new offers now available for their consumers.

“We remain committed in our vision of making every Filipino break norms and embrace the multiple opportunities that the digital world brings,” she told members of the press.

“This is why we are unveiling bigger and better data packages for our subscribers, and welcome stronger partnerships with device makers and content providers,” she added.

With December just around the corner, the Smart executive also introduced their latest partnership with the country’s leading digital payments mobile app, PayMaya, which could aid subscribers during their holiday shopping sprees.

“This Christmas, we are also empowering our subscribers with more convenient and rewarding ways to enjoy digital services at their fingertips, turning their phones into a wallet they can use to purchase load, shop online, book an Uber, or subscribe to the latest hit series—among a list of endless possibilities,” she said.

More online possibilities with bigger data

Recent statistics revealed that majority of the Philippines has become a mobile data driven society, and Smart is giving subscribers more control of their data through amped up mobile plans.

To accommodate this growing demand, Smart is introducing Giga Plans, the telco’s premiere postpaid offer with 10 times more data than its previous plans, a free app and unlimited texts to all networks.

According to Smart’s Head of Mobile Marketing Kathy Carag, the latest handsets in the market require the biggest data possible and are best experienced with their latest offering.

“Data under Smart Postpaid’s Giga Plans will definitely provide a richer digital lifestyle for our Smart users. And since we are doing network improvements all over the country, digital services under Smart is just bound to get even better,” she said.

The line-only Giga Plans, which boasts twice as much data as other handset plans, also gives users more leeway—from binge watching their favourite shows on iflix, navigating roads on Waze or even posting as many photos and videos on their respective social media accounts.

“Why go big time, when you can go gig-time?” she quipped.

Faster data for Filipino travellers

Aside from beefing up its already impressive data offerings, Smart is also looking to cater to travel-hungry Pinoys with a much improved roaming service to accommodate their digital needs.

Prepaid subscribers can now avail the Smart Chat Abroad, which gives unlimited access to chat messaging apps—Facebook Messenger, Viber, Telegram, WeChat, Line and WhatsApp—across 130 countries. The service can be availed at  P150 per day.

The telco will soon be launching Smart World Travel WiFi, a pocket WiFi for Smart and non-Smart subscribers, to enjoy a group mobile data in over 130 countries starting at P399 per day.
