I can only be amazed at how far we’ve come in the 21 years I’ve spent with the company. I’ve seen the number of Ayala malls grow from only three to 44. I’ve witnessed us develop more sustainable estates, starting from the Makati central business district, Cebu Business Park, and Ayala Alabang, to a total of 19 nationwide. We’ve also built our own Filipino hotel brand, Seda. And the list goes on.
My job is to be the custodian of the Ayala Land brand, its promise of helping create a better life for Filipinos, and its commitment to nation building. I tell the story of its heritage, the values that serve as our compass, and the legacy of striving for a better future.
In taking care of Ayala Land and its various brands, I draw inspiration from rearing my four children—every day is a commitment to instill the same values, nurture them to flourish, and inspire them to make a difference.
Just like raising my children, it gives me immense satisfaction to be part of the process of nurturing these brands—building them from ground up, giving them names, seeing them through each stage of their life cycle so they can succeed, and then starting the process all over again to continue to make them relevant.
Every day, I am honored to be part of a company that Filipinos have trusted through the years. It’s a trust I’m proud to have helped take care of and has become my personal responsibility to build on. It’s my joy, my passion, and my life’s work, to help these brands flourish.
I consider Ayala Land as my fifth child.
