Manila, Philippines—The appliance market has been saturated with varied choices for Filipino households. In fact, the options are vast and growing with no signs of slowing down. So when one buys an airconditioner, what must be considered aside from the tag price?

For appliance maker Electrolux, the add-on wellness benefit of airconditioners should be a foremost concern.

Electrolux recently unveiled to members of the press a “healthy” alternative of airconditioning line that seeks to address the growing concern of Filipinos to health and wellness.

“In the past few years, many Filipinos have been looking for ways to experience better health and wellness. From increasing amounts of pollution as the city becomes more urbanized and the faster pace of life that leads to stress, it’s no wonder that many are seeking various means to relax and rejuvenate themselves,” said Terry Sales, Electrolux sales manager.

Indeed the company is already getting in touch with its “green” and “healthy” side.

‘Healthy’ features

Sales enumerated Electrolux airconditioners’ many “healthy” features:

First, it has a Bio-Hepa (bio high efficiency particulate air) filter that traps very fine particles of airborne dust, bacteria, fungi and microbes then destroys the organisms by dissolving their cell walls with a biological enzyme. This system is said to remove over 95 percent of bacteria and 99 percent of dust particles suspended in the air surroundings.

To keep annoying summer sniffles away from your family, Electrolux has infused a plasma air purification technology that literally cleanses the air of contaminants and impurities, reducing the incidence of allergies, asthma and even the common cold.

One of the very few in the market to use the Vitamin C technology, Electrolux officials said their airconditioners could give “your room that extra burst of freshness that’s perfect for summer.” The Vitamin C technology allows release of nano particles of pure Vitamin C which help reduce stress, improve your skin and even inhibit bacteria and combat free radicals which cause cell damage.

Finally, the airconditioner has Gold Fin protection technology, which has a unique golden coating to withstand salty air, rain and other corrosive elements, and a Golden Bio Evaporator which prevents bacteria from breeding and spreading, ensuring that one’s home remains a truly healthful oasis.

During the launch, Electrolux regional product coordinator JC Maniego revealed that it took them five months to develop their airconditioners. He also highlighted the Follow Me technology that their airconditioners have adapted.

The Follow Me technology of airconditioners follows one’s movement and cools you wherever you go by directing the airflow toward the direction where the movement takes place. This greatly contributes to energy savings and household’s total electricity consumption.

Electrolux’s new split-type air conditioners also boast of an integrated air filtration system that eliminates dust and other harmful particles, ensuring that the air your family breathes is clean and pure.

To date there are two types of Electrolux airconditioners available on the market: windows type (pegged at P9,000-P20,000) and the split type (P20,000-P33,000). There are authorized service stations nationwide, officials assured buyers.
