Regus PH opens biggest ‘flexible workspace’ in Davao
Flexible workspace solutions provider Regus will open by the middle of this month its biggest center in Davao City, with more facilities being considered in areas outside Metro Manila, especially Mindanao.
Regus Philippines country manager Lars Wittig said Tuesday that they would occupy a 1,600-square-meter facility with 3,500 workstations within the Topaz Tower at the Damosa IT Park of Davao City-based developer Damosa Land Inc.
The Davao center, located at the fast-rising commercial district of Lanang in the country’s third most populous city, has already attracted the interest among manufacturers, retailers as well as business process outsourcing firms to locate there, Wittig said.
Amid strong investor interest in Davao City, where President Duterte served as mayor before he was catapulted to the highest post in the land, Wittig said they expected their newest facility to hit an occupancy rate of 85-90 percent within the next two years.
Wittig said they had long been planning to set up shop in Davao City, but only got to push through after they found a partner in Damosa Land. All previously opened Regus centers in the country had capital investments poured in solely by the Luxembourg-based firm.
Wittig said they were looking at sealing similar partnerships in future locations being considered in the cities of Cagayan de Oro, General Santos and Zamboanga in Mindanao as well as Bacolod and Iloilo in Visayas and Baguio and Subic in Luzon. He added that they were also looking at putting up a second site at the Clark Freeport Zone as well as expanding further in Cebu.
