Megaworld putting up 30-story tower in Makati

Megaworld Corp. is expanding its  residential footprint in the Makati City central business district.

The builder, led by tycoon Andrew Tan, is putting up a 30-story tower called The Ellis, according to a company statement. It is located along L.P. Leviste Street in Salcedo Village.

The tower will have 237 units ranging from studio (24 sqm to 34.5 sqm) and executive studio loft with balcony (64 sqm), executive one-bedroom with balcony (64 sqm to 69 sqm) to two-bedroom with balcony (75 sqm) and executive two-bedroom with balcony (121.5 sqm).

Special units called ‘Link Units’ are also available, a combination of either studio and one-bedroom (63.5 sqm) or studio and two-bedroom (103 sqm). Current unit prices at The Ellis reach up to P180,000 per square meter, Megaworld said.

“The concept of  the ‘link units’ allows residents to have their living space attached to their working place. An owner, for example, can live in the one-bedroom unit while the attached studio unit may be converted into an office,” Eugene Em Lozano, vice president for sales and marketing-Makati CBD, Megaworld, said in a statement.

The Ellis will also feature “first-of-its-kind” amenities in condominium living in Metro Manila.  These included the CoLab Spaces, a creative, non-conventional open working space where residents can walk in, plug in their laptops and work. The facility comes equipped  with complimentary high-speed internet access.

There will also be a Town Hall, meant for casual socials, intimate galas, art exhibits, movies and even music sessions.

Another amenity is the Pause & Play Room, a game room where residents can gather for indoor games and recreation.

It will also have a Fitness Center, as well as Lap & Kiddie Pools with outdoor deck.  Miguel R. Camus
