CebuPac adds flights to meet demand
Cebu Pacific Air, the country’s biggest budget airline, added key flight frequencies in the Philippines and overseas to meet higher passenger demand during peak summer months.
Cebu Pacific, in a statement, said it had added flights from Manila, Cebu, Iloilo and Davao mainly to local destinations.
It said it would add a daily flight from Manila to popular vacation spot of Bohol (Tagbilaran), for a total of 28 weekly flights beginning April 1, 2016.
The airline will also strengthen its Cebu hub with a total of 51 weekly flights between Cebu and Davao, gateway to the Philippines’ southern islands, beginning May 1, 2016.
Throughout the summer season, the airline will also increase frequencies from Cebu to the following domestic destinations: Bacolod (up to 17 weekly), General Santos City( up to 10 weekly), Kalibo (up to 17 weekly), Puerto Princesa (up to 22 weekly), and Zamboanga (up to 12 weekly).
Those flying between Cebu and Iloilo can choose from among 16 weekly flights, with some flights upgraded from ATR to Airbus A320 aircraft to increase the number of available seats.
Within the first week of April, the carrier aims to meet increased passenger traffic in Visayas and Mindanao with additional three weekly frequencies between Iloilo and Davao, and two weekly frequencies between Davao and Zamboanga.
Four weekly frequencies between Zamboanga and Tawi-Tawi will also be added starting May 1.
Cebu Pacific is ramping up its flights from both Iloilo and Davao to Singapore. Beginning March 30, 2016, the airline will add one flight per week from Iloilo to Singapore, and another flight per week from Davao to Singapore starting April 2, 2016.
Its Iloilo and Davao hubs will then operate three weekly flights each to Singapore.
Cebu Pacific’s 57-strong fleet is composed of eight Airbus A319, 35 Airbus A320, six Airbus A330, and eight ATR 72-500 aircraft. Between 2016 and 2021, CEB expects delivery of three more brand-new Airbus A320, 30 Airbus A321neo and 16 ATR 72-600 aircraft.
