The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cautioned Filipino consumers against two drugs classified as a steroid and an antihistamine being sold in the market without the necessary permits from the government.
In an advisory, the regulatory agency advised the public that Deksametason (Dexaharsen) 0.5 mg tablet and Cyproheptadine HCl (Pronicy 4), both from Jakarta, Indonesia, were unregistered drug products and may cause potential danger or injury to consumers.
The FDA reiterated that unregistered drug products are health hazards since they did not undergo the necessary product evaluation, registration and testing by the government to ensure their safety and efficacy.
