BHI’s legal woes on Friday’s Boracay not over

PANLILIO-led Boulevard Holdings Inc. (BHI) ’s legal woes over Friday’s Boracay Beach Resort are not over.

A 1,477-square meter property comprising half of the beach frontage of Friday’s Resort is being auctioned off by the “previous” owner Mila Yap, backed by a writ of execution issued by a Judge from the Regional Trial Court (RTC) of Quezon City and a notice of auction sanctioned by a sheriff.

“We only discovered this future attempt this coming March 7, 2016 to retake our property—already under Fridays Resort name and duly tax paid—through a QC (Quezon City) informant . BHI chair Jose Marcel Panlilio said in a letter to shareholders, a copy of which was disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Friday.

“We are not a party to the QC Court but will file as third party claimants to let (RTC) Judge (Edgardo) Bellosillo know we are the owners of the lot under our name for eight years to try to stop the fake auction,” Panlilio said.

Panlilio noted that the RTC Makati had already transferred ownership of this parcel to BHI more than eight years ago from the previous owner, Mila Yap and had made a final order of such in 2014. He added that the municipal court of Buruanga, Aklan had also ordered the removal of the 200 Muslim armed men led by Yap’s son Datu Yap, in March 2015.

“We finally repaired damaged buildings, and grew our revenues to 14 million (pesos) a month, and free monthly cash at almost seven million (pesos) a month,” Panlilio said.

“So in 2014, Mila Yap pretended to sell what does not belong to her, trying to transact it to Ambassador (Amable) Aguiluz of Ama Colleges, then after receiving money of 74 million (pesos) from him, could not repay, so they both pretended to compromise in the QC RTC by her offering it for auction to settle her debt to Ambassador Aguiluz,” he said.
