Globe myBusiness strengthens int’l partnerships to boost services

As digital solutions become imminent tools to power the growth of e-commerce for the SME sector, it has become imperative for SMEs to expand their presence and reach in the digital space. In its effort to extend and broaden its support to local SMEs, the small and medium business arm of Globe Telecom, Globe myBusiness has furthered its global partnership with top e-commerce platform Shopify.

In the recently concluded 2015 APEC Summit hosted in Manila, the state of SMEs was among the major undertakings of the event. As SMEs provide major support to the country’s economic landscape, business innovations are sought to help boost these local ventures. With the world fast becoming a globalized marketplace, e-commerce is seen as key where business owners can have increased capability of reaching a wider market.

Shopify Executives paid a visit to the Globe Tower to further talks with the Globe myBusiness team to enhance its partnership and be able to provide Filipinos entrepreneurs with an enhanced e-commerce platform that will allow them to take their businesses online. With Shopify’s recent visit to Globe, led by its Strategic Partnership Manager and member of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Canada Advisory Group, Cameron Vernest and Shopify Head of Business Development Brennan Loh, they reinforced their support and partnership with Globe myBusiness as part of their Southeast Asian expansion, by enhancing the Shopify platform to suit the needs of Filipino entrepreneurs.

Shopify’s technology together with Globe myBusiness’ services can give SMEs a reliable package that will allow them to build their own online store, showcase their brand, and at the same time efficiently manage the back-end processes through capabilities such as tracking orders and customer data, viewing marketing and analytics information, and much more.

As Shopify’s Loh shared, “The Philippines is a fast growing economy and there is no better time to expand our presence here than now. As Shopify becomes available to more SMEs, we can in turn contribute to the expansion of their brand by helping them open up to a bigger market outside of the country, giving them that competitive edge that every business needs.” Globe myBusiness Senior Vice President Martha Sazon also continues that, “The digital age requires us to offer innovative business solutions to SMEs so that we can help them run their operations smoothly and more efficiently. With technology as the definitive equalizer in business, these digital solutions allow SMEs to compete with bigger brands through the use of tools that give them the competitive edge. With Shopify, we continue to make our customers’ digital journey easier and we are excited to be partnering with Shopify to shape and redefine the future of retail in the Philippines,” says Martha Sazon, Senior Vice President for Globe myBusiness.

Through Globe myBusiness, SMEs can avail of Shopify starting at P429 a month.
