Sun Life named Asia’s top life insurance firm

THE PHILIPPINE unit of global insurer Sun Life of Canada was named Asia’s best life insurance company for 2015 during the 19th Asia Insurance Industry Awards (AIIA).

Sun Life of Canada (Philippines) Inc. was named “Life Insurance Company of the Year” during the AIIA awards recently held in Singapore.

This is the first time that a locally incorporated insurance firm was given the prestigious award, which was also the highest honor in its category.

The AIIA is a coveted mark of excellence and peer group endorsement for insurance players and professionals in the market.

Major criteria in the life insurance category include: setting leading professional standards for other insurers to follow; improving life insurance protection and savings levels in the market; demonstrating in-depth knowledge and understanding of the region through strategies and operations; and responsiveness to the needs of customers and intermediaries.
