THE GOVERNMENT has pushed back the deadline for the qualification phase of a P298-million public private partnership deal that aims to modernize the IT infrastructure of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
In a bid bulletin, the Department of Transportation and Communications said the deadline for submitting pre-qualification documents for the deal, formally known as the Road Transport Information Technology Infrastructure Project-Phase 2, has been moved to Nov. 23, 2015 from the original Oct. 30 deadline.
The department said this was to give more time for would-be bidders to prepare their documents.
The proposed concession period is 11.5 years, including a year and a half for installation, application development and a “setting-up” period, the DOTC said.
The bid will be a two-stage process, with the winner to “finance, design, install, operate and maintain” the IT infrastructure, the department said.
The computerization efforts would allow LTFRB to collect data more effectively, information on the PPP Center’s website showed.
