CONSUMER technology firm Xurpas Inc. grew net profit in the first semester by 10 percent to P115.61 million compared to the same period last year on robust growth in core mobile consumer service business.
Excluding one-off expenses related to acquisitions, Xurpas’ core net income rose by 17 percent to P122.87 million, the company said in a press statement on Friday.
Revenues for the first six months surged by 64.5 percent year-on-year to P311.99 million, it added.
Gross profit increased by 65 percent year-on-year to P209.84 million in the first semester while gross profit margin remained at 67 percent.
“Exciting times are ahead for Xurpas. We have been very busy growing our core
mobile consumer business, while tapping promising opportunities to enhance our
product offerings and reach in Southeast Asia,” said Nix Nolledo, Xurpas chair and chief executive.
In July, Xurpas launched Xeleb Inc., the Philippines’ first mobile games company focused on celebrity-branded games. This new subsidiary was established in partnership with celebrities Anne Curtis, Isabelle Daza, Kim Atienza and Erwan Heussaff. Doris Dumlao-Abadilla
