PLDT, Fox ink deal

Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), the country’s biggest telecommunications provider, sealed an agreement with Fox International Channels, marking its latest content partnership in line with a broader shift in its business strategy.

PLDT said in a statement  Tuesday that the partnership between units PLDT HOME, Smart Communications and Fox International would allow subscribers to view more content, including “live shows and catch up television.”

“This content partnership with Fox gives us unparalleled breadth and depth in our entertainment library,” Ariel Fermin, PLDT and Smart executive vice president and consumer business group head, said in the statement.

Jude Turcuato, senior vice president and general manager of Fox International Channels PH, cited PLDT’s nation-wide reach and  various multimedia platforms.

“PLDT HOME and Smart are the ideal content partners for us,” he said in the same statement.
