Continuing its mission of helping people build, improve and refine their homes, Wilcon opened its new branch in San Pablo City, Laguna, early this month.
The traditional motorcade kick-started the celebration to introduce Wilcon and its products to the residents of the city and nearby municipalities. Bright and early, Wilcon, led by its mascot Wil, and its valued suppliers roamed around the streets of San Pablo and Alaminos, Laguna as well as Tiaong and Candelaria, Quezon. Residents who watched the motorcade were given giveaways such as Wilcon fan and shirt.
Wilcon executives, Laguna government officials, business partners and customers gathered at the newly launched store to celebrate the company’s newest accomplishment. Marking the official launch of the depot was the ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Wilcon president and CEO William Belo, senior executive vice president and COO Rosemarie Ong, as well as product director and executive finance audit manager Careen Belo. They were joined by Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez, Vice Gov. Katherine Agapay, San Pablo City Mayor Loreto Amben Amante, Vice Mayor Angie Yang, Wilcon Brand Ambassador Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Matimco Inc. president Charlie Liu, Kent Floors president Jerry Tiu, Franke Kitchen Systems director for strategy in Asia Pacific Stephan Mueller, Grohe and American Standard Philippines country manager Alen Alban, Mariwasa Siam Ceramics president Phaskorn Buranawit, Davies Paints Philippines Inc. president John Lee Garcia, James Hardie Philippines country manager Mark Dewey Sergio and architect James G. Jao, Philippine Institute of Interior Designers president. It is immediately followed by the store blessing, showering of coins and dragon dance to welcome luck, prosperity and success.

Excellent addition
If your home needs a new look or just an accent piece to add some spark, an artwork would be an excellent addition. Open until the end of the month, Kartini Asia’s “Asian Renditions,” a furniture and art exhibit at Harringtons Lifestyle Showroom, has several art options. Check out the exhibit located at the HMR compound in the East Service Road of Sucat, Muntinlupa City.
The Harringtons showroom was built by HMR Auction Services Inc., a pioneer of the auctioneering industry in the Philippines. The 650-square-meter facility is open for direct sales as well as serving as the home for Harringtons monthly auction of selected pieces.
Combining artisan touches of Asian-inspired and antique furniture with stylish contemporary detail, Kartini Asia put together a well-curated exhibit as well as Asian furniture display.
The exhibition also presents the body of work of Mission Artists Philippines. The founding members include both distinguished and emerging Filipino talents who have shown great
relevance in the subjects and themes of their art. This is their first exhibit as a group, which showcases their collective work about faith, Filipino culture, family, women, children and nature.
Kartini Asia pays tribute to National Artist Abdulmari Asia Imao, whose legacy in the field of sculpture and the arts is greatly admired in Asia and in various parts of the world. Kartini’s collection of Imao’s “Sarimanok” series displays the artist’s uniqueness, authenticity and genuineness of expression.
There will be an auction of selected pieces on May 30 at 2 p.m., part of the proceeds of which will be for the benefit of our orphans and needy youth in Casa Miani Home for Boys in San Jose Village, Alabang.
