Villar store chain aims to go public

THE VILLAR family wants to take its home-improvement chain AllHome public in about three years.

The company also announced plans to ramp up store expansion to achieve this goal.

The chain, under the family’s privately held All Value Holdings Corp., will be ready for an initial public offering once it opens 30 to 40 stores nationwide, from the current eight locations, All Value chair Manuel Villar Jr. told reporters.

AllHome will provide a fresh listed play on the booming construction business—an area where Villar has built most of his fortune.

The former senator is the founder of publicly traded property developer Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc., where he currently sits as chair.

“There has been a boom in the last five years. More people are upgrading their homes, and new houses are being built. With the evident prosperity we have, many people are buying houses. So our timing is just great,” Villar said.

“In the next five years, we will be ramping up the establishment of more AllHome stores. I want this business to be a one-stop shop for home-related improvements,” he added.

AllHome has just opened its eighth branch, AllHome Sta. Rosa, and it plans to end 2015 with 12 branches.

The four remaining stores to be opened this year will be located in Imus, Las Piñas, Antipolo and Bataan.

Furthermore, the company plans to expand the branches in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan and San Fernando, Pampanga.

Next year, the company plans to open six to seven stores at an average cost of P270 million to P300 million for each store with sizes ranging from 3,500 to 12,000 square meters per branch.

Future store sites will include Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Davao.

All Value president Benjamarie Therese Serrano said that the company positioned AllHome to provide more convenience to contractors, architects, interior designers and homeowners embarking on their DIY (do-it-yourself) home improvement projects.

“Unlike any other home depots that offer construction materials, AllHome will also feature home furnishings, appliances and décor,” she said.

AllHome currently has more than 700 suppliers, with more brands approaching them for selling space, Villar said.

AllHome Sta. Rosa is located at the Santa Rosa–Tagaytay Road near the residential communities of Vista Land such as Valenza and Georgia Club.

Santa Rosa is also home to many new residential developments due to employment opportunities and preferred destinations for leisure.

The newest branch occupies almost 10,500 square meters of space dedicated to housing an extensive collection of superior quality home improvement items and services. Miguel R. Camus
