MSAP Media Congress 2015 wraps up

MANILA, Philippines — Day 2 of The Media Specialists Association of the Philippines (MSAP) Media Congress, held April 14, 2015 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila, started strong with a morning session led by CNN news anchor Kristie Lu Stout who talked about how social media has become a major touchpoint for most people when it comes to the news. Themed “Confluence,” the congress showcased talks from notable personages in the advertising and media industries.

Commercial director Lee Risk talked about the relevance of print in the media mix while Facebook Southeast Asia’s Myung Jo Choi discussed targeted marketing in the internet age. TV5’s Chot Reyes closed the morning session with a talk on the digital media landscape.

Coca-Cola Philippines’ Jasmin Vinculado started the afternoon session talking about activation as a key driver in campaigns followed by McDonald’s Philippines’ Margot Torres who spoke about the importance of brand experience.

The significance of Out-Of-Home was discussed at length by Kinetic’s King F. Lai, Posterscope’s Haresh Nayak, Media On The Go’s Ron Graham, and Joanna Von Felkerzam of Starcom Mediavest.

Nielsen Philippines’ Stuart Jamieson ended the 2-day event with a timely talk about consumer insight.
