Leading mass housing developer 8990 Holdings has set up a new subsidiary that will offer cable Internet and telephone connectivity to home buyers.
In a statement, 8990 Holdings president Januario Jesus Atencio said: “Our intention is to provide cable Internet and telephone connectivity service for each and every DECA Homes homeowner. This is consistent with our mission to provide not only solid houses to our target market, but also the amenities for their family to have a productive and meaningful life.”
Atencio added that 8990’s captured market of about 30,000 homeowners across the country can soon take advantage of this service.
The mass housing company develops residential units under the brand names Deca Homes, Urban Deca Homes and Urban Deca Towers and has sold more than 30,000 units since its inception 10 years ago. It targets to build another 11,000 units this year.
Based on the demographics of Deca Homes’ buyers, the majority are 26 to 35 years old. They are mostly employed in retail services (35 percent) and business process outsourcing/information technology (13 percent), while some (24 percent) are land-based overseas Filipino workers.
8990 expects these people to greatly benefit from this service given rising need for information and reliable technology.
This age group of 36 to 55 years old with a monthly income of P36,000 to P55,000 is seen to welcome this new service as this this the age bracket that deems Internet and cable package in homes as basic necessities. Doris C. Dumlao
