Leading mass housing developer 8990 Holdings Inc. is investing at least P1 billion pesos to develop a 140-hectare township in the Western Visayan city of Pavia, touted to be the largest housing project in Iloilo and the Island of Panay.
Januario Jesus Atencio, president and chief executive officer of 8990 Holdings, said in a statement that the launch of Deca Homes Pavia Resort Residences (DHPRR)—through subsidiary 8990 Housing Development Corp.—marked another milestone in the growth of the company.
Atencio said the project was in line with his company’s thrust to “transform lives” in communities wherein 8990 was operating.
“DHPRR is an answer to the housing needs of Filipinos, especially llonggos, and a fulfillment on our part because we are not just here to build houses but to make lives better,” Atencio said.
Each unit will stand on a lot size of 80 square meters and have a living space of 35.1 sqm with two bedrooms, toilet and bathroom, kitchen, dining and living areas. Average selling price for each unit starts at P950,000.
The project involves the construction of 2,861 single attached house and lot units with amenities including a clubhouse, swimming pool, basketball courts, chapel and a commercial center and wakeboard park.
Atencio said that, with the so-called precast technology, the company would be able to complete each DHPRR unit in less than 10 days.
The 8990 chief added that prospective buyers could tap the company’s in-house financing or Pag-IBIG’s housing loan facility to purchase a Deca home.
The project is located near the Iloilo International Airport and downtown area, as well as the century-old Pavia Parish Church also known as Sta. Monica Church.
Pavia, which was founded in 1848, is the agro-industrial center of Western Visayas, located 9.6 kilometers north of Iloilo City.
Atencio pointed out that the company would infuse a billion pesos in DHPRR to address the housing backlog in Iloilo. At the same time, the company hopes to contribute to the economic activity of the city.
