PTT to open string of luxury stations

PTT Philippines opened Friday its “luxury” pump station in the Philippines, the first of its kind, in Lucena City, Quezon province.

The Thai-led oil player said in a statement that the opening of PTT Lucena would kick off PTT Philippines’ expansion this year.

“PTT Philippines is also set to hold … the ground-breaking for a bigger station, the two-hectare SCTEX project in Concepcion, Tarlac,” the company said.

The 5,000-square-meter PTT Lucena, which cost around P90 million, is a one-stop service hub classified as a “platinum station.”

In PTT parlance, a platinum station is bigger in size compared with other regular PTT service stations. The structures are exactly the same as those in Thailand.

Apart from the gasoline station, the P90-million one-stop service hub also offers an array of non-oil business establishments like a convenience store, food shops, restaurants and PTT’s signature coffee shop, Café Jungle.

PTT Lucena will also feature what the company calls a first class comfort room, “Restroom 20.” considered to be one of the most luxurious amenities in the Philippines.

Restroom 20 is a fully airconditioned restroom with lounge and deluxe fixtures, PTT said.

PTTPLC senior executive vice president for Oil Business Chavalit Punthong recently arrived in Manila to formally open the Thai oil firm’s biggest station so far in the country, PTT Philippines Corp. (PTTPC) president and chief executive officer Sukanya Seriyothin announced Thursday.
