Verizon ramps up rewards successful program

DALY CITY — More than five million Verizon Wireless accounts have signed up for its rewards in exchange for points since Verizon Smart Rewards launched in July.

Customers can easily earn points for their everyday activities and interactions with Verizon Wireless, the company announced.

Verizon Smart Rewards participants have redeemed over two billion rewards points since the program launched at an impressive rate of 260 points per second.

Customers have redeemed points to buy discounted merchandise and participate in sweepstakes and auctions. Specifically, Verizon Wireless customers have benefitted from:

With the holiday season, new rewards are added every day, including chances to win phones, tablets, TVs, electronics and other popular items during special auctions and sweepstakes in mid-December. Customers can also enter to win special sports auctions and sweepstakes.

Verizon customers who sign up for Smart Rewards will find at least 10,000 points waiting for them after they register.

Activities, including signing in to the My Verizon online account management tool, paying monthly bills and other transactions like using the Verizon Trade In program or choosing paperless billing, will generate more points every month.

Participation in Smart Rewards may require enrollment in Verizon Selects, which personalizes marketing that customers may receive from Verizon and other companies by using information about customers’ use of Verizon products and services, including location, web browsing and app usage data.
