MANILA, Philippines–Teradata Corp., a US-based big data analytics and marketing applications firm, has spent $50 million to put up its second facility at the Bonifacio Global City, making the Philippines the company’s second-largest professional services provider for global operations.

The establishment of a second office will allow the company to double its current headcount of 500 to about 1,000 employees within five years, Teradata VP for global professional services David Klumb said in a briefing Thursday.

“We strongly believe that the Philippines is well positioned to supply the skilled resources required to implement and support Big Data projects for our clients in the Americas,” she added.

Teradata VP for the Americas Robert Cromer said the new site in Taguig City would serve as the company’s main development center that would provide services to its customers in the Americas.

Cromer added that the new site would be a key component in Teradata’s efforts to help clients tackle big data and business analytics challenges with the company’s integrated set of hardware and software offerings, including the Teradata solutions for Hadoop, the Teradata Aster Discovery portfolio, as well as Teradata Marketing Applications.
