Real estate firm Century Properties on Friday announced plans to build a $150-million high-rise residential project dubbed the Trump Tower Manila, in a tie-up with a New York-based firm for the use of the brand name and mark of the popular real estate mogul.
In a statement, the company said the skyscraper would have at least 220 units and, at a projected height of 250 meters, it is expected to be one of the country’s tallest buildings.
The project will rise on a 3.4-hectare development known as Century City on the northern end of the Makati central business district.
In an e-mailed reply to the Inquirer’s queries, Trump’s vice president of development and acquisitions Eric Trump said his firm is intent on “making Trump Tower Manila the finest property anywhere in Asia.”
“Asia has seen such an incredible boom and a tremendous amount of wealth … and we knew that we wanted to continue to expand in the Asian market with the right project,” he said. “In the Philippines, the real estate industry is advancing tremendously and reshaping itself; and we felt that the Filipino customer, particularly in Manila, appreciates the incredible standard of luxury and quality that our brand signifies.”
According to Century Properties, the project will feature a “triple-height” lobby, a fine dining restaurant at the ground floor, and a library, business center, lounge and video room on the third level.
The tower’s 29th and 30th floors will offer views of Makati, while residents may enjoy various facilities such as a spa, fitness center and yoga studio, apart from a juice bar, sun deck and lap pool.
Unit sizes range from suites of approximately 57 square meters and one- to four-bedrooms and penthouses as large as 425 square meters.
The project is 100-percent owned and developed by Century Properties. No date has yet been set for the project’s completion.
“There is never a more opportune time than today to launch Trump Tower Manila, which is perhaps the country’s most powerful symbol of progress and readiness to compete on the world stage,” said Robbie Antonio of Century Properties. “This project celebrates achievement, power … and an unparalleled kind of lifestyle that is on a class of its own.”
