MANILA, Philippines—Talking to foreign businessmen on Wednesday, the chief of the Philippine National Police assured investors they are in a safe and secure industrial sector.

Director General Alan Purisima, PNP Chief, encouraged international business leaders to “promote stronger ties and build more bridges of cooperation towards a truly progressive and peaceful Philippines.”

Purisima added the current thrust of the police force is creating an “atmosphere of industrial peace” that would promote economic growth and job-creation.

Police Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, PNP Spokesman, said Purisima met with members of the Joint Foreign Chambers in Camp Crame.

JFC comprises around 2,000 businesses operating in the Philippines that have affiliations with the American, Australian-New Zealand, Canadian, European, Japanese and Korean Chambers of Commerce, including the Philippine Association of Multinational Companies Regional Headquarters Inc. (Pamuri).

“The JFC promotes enhancement of mutual trade and investment relations between the Philippines contributing substantial investment, jobs, and tax revenue to the local economy,” Sindac said.
