Misibis Bay Resort, Altti embark on year-long charter flight series

MANILA, Philippines—As an offshoot of the huge success of the first ever international direct charter flights to the Bicol region during the celebration of Chinese New Year this year, Misibis Bay Resort and Casino (MBRC) and Asia Landmark Travel and Tours Inc. (Altti), have once again embarked on a planned year-long charter flight series that started Friday, August 8 and will last until October 10, 2014, with a total of 18 cycles.
From Xiamen City in Fujian Province in China to Legazpi City in Bicol the time of flight is 10:40 am to 13:25pm, and from Legazpi to Xiamen the time of flight is 7:10 am to 9:55 am.
The dates of flight are as follows: August: 08/08, 08/11, 08/15, 08/18, 08/22, 08/25, 08/29; September: 09/01, 09/05, 09/08, 09/12, 09/15, 09/19, 09/22, 09/26, 09/29; and October: 10/03, 10/06, 10/10.
Should this be successful the flights will continue on a-year-round basis. According to Stephen Chen of Altti, Misibis Bay offers a unique balance of tourist activities and attractions unlike any other destination in the Philippines.
Referring to the majestic Mayon Volcano, the whalesharks of Donsol, the rich culture and heritage of Bicol, culinary as well as adventure tourism not to mention the pristine white sand beaches which can be found in Misibis Bay in Cagraray island, Chen is confident they may be able to attract more tourists from other cities in China and is looking at tourist arrivals from China upwards of 50,000 passengers annually, in anticipation of the opening of the Bicol International Airport in 2016.
For the resort, chairman of the board Elizaldy S. Co remarked that this would not have been possible without strong private and public partnership and the convergence of the various agencies such as the Provincial Government of Albay, the City Government of Legazpi, Department of Tourism and the Bureau of Immigration, which granted visa upon arrival policy for the tourists. That policy of the BI made it easier for Chinese Nationals to visit the country and to make this into reality.
