MANILA, Philippines–After a comprehensive and in-depth judging process, the shortlist for the Philippines Property Awards 2014 was announced July 3.
Eighteen awards in total will be presented at the gala dinner on July 29 at the Fairmont Makati in Manila and every shortlisted company will receive either a winner’s trophy or a Highly Commended certificate.
“The shortlist is very impressive this year and we thank the judges for all their hard work on the selection process,” Terry Blackburn, CEO of Ensign Media said. “The quality of projects on it really demonstrates why the Philippines has been the market leader in Asean real estate in the last year.”
The panel was once again headed by Cyndy Tan Jabarata, who praised the exceptional quality of entries this year and noted how hard it was to choose the winners. Other judges include Lindsay J. Orr, William V. Coscolluela, Abelardo-M Tolentino Jr, Rommel M. Leuterio, Jaime A. Cura, Jose Oscar O. Salvacion and Joy Benedicto who are heading the Cebu site visit team.
After a lengthy evaluation, which included site visits for all shortlisted properties, the judges finished their deliberations in June 30, overseen by Paul Ashburn of BDO Advisory, the awards official supervisors.
Best Developer will be contested by Ayala Land and Filinvest, whilst ASEANA One and Two, Globe Tower, Century City Mall and SM Aura Premier will compete in the commercial categories. The residential shortlist for Manila is particularly strong with Avida Parkway Settings Nuvali, Portofino, Admiral Baysuites, Botanika, Azure Urban Resort Residences, Jazz Residences, ASiA Enclaves, and Avida CityFlex Towers BGC – all competing for honours across four categories.
Cebu is represented by Marco Polo Residences Towers 1 and 2, Park Point Residences, eBloc 3 and Park Centrale Cebu in residential and commercial categories. Davao is new to the awards this year and has two shortlisted developments: Abreeza Residences and Camella Northpoint.
The design categories recognise achievements in the residential, commercial, and hotel sectors and have a strong list of contenders including Arya Residences, Jazz Residences, SM Aura Premier, Century City Mall, Globe Tower, Net Park, Bonifacio High Street, SM Aura Premier and Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila.
The glittering gala dinner presentation will be rounded off by the presentation of the Real Estate Personality of the Year Award to Dr. Andrew Tan, Chairman of Megaworld.
