MANILA, Philippines–Local automotive firm Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has announced the voluntary recall of 1,760 units of the Honda Fit, City, Civic, and Accord models that were sold in the Philippines, due to faulty front passenger airbags.
Of the total number of vehicles to be recalled in the Philippines, 867 units are City (2003 model); 230 units of the Civic (2003); 662 are Accord (2003); and one Honda Fit (2002), HCPI said in a statement issued Wednesday. Concerned customers and/or owners shall be notified via letter notices and through phone by Honda dealers.
This recall is part of a bigger global recall of some 2.1 million vehicles by parent firm Honda Motor Co. Ltd.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience we have caused to our customers and other people involved in this matter. Rest assured that we are conducting different measures to prevent the recurrence of this problem. Our customers’ safety is always Honda’s top priority.
