MANILA, Philippines — The Securities and Exchange Commission hopes to ease access to public documents crucial to decision-making and speed up their delivery with the launch of the “SEC Express System.”
Aiming to “innovate operational processes,” the SEC en banc approved the launch of SEC Express System, an integrated application system for requests for both plain and authenticated copies of official documents on file with the corporate watchdog.
The system will cover requests for the following documents: articles of incorporation/partnership; by-laws, general information sheet, application for increase/decrease of capital stock, resolution, secretary’s certificate, board resolution, registration data sheet and other company-related documents.
One of the facilities provided by the new system is an online application platform whereby clients’ requests for SEC documents can be done through “user-friendly” web-based interface which will include online payment and courier delivery of requested document with nationwide coverage.
Requests can also be done through a call center using the hotline number 737-8888.
The new system also allows document pick-up via an appointment system. Clients schedule an appointment before proceeding to the SEC to make their requests. This system guarantees that the request for a maximum of three documents will be accommodated at the appointed date.
One-time request in excess of three documents will be referred to the online and/or call center-based application systems.
