Turkish firms seek partners in PH

Turkish companies into general trading and manufacturing will be in the country this week to forge possible partnerships with Filipino companies, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) said Monday.

In a statement, PCCI president Alfredo M. Yao said 24 Turkish companies would participate in a business matching activity with the members of the largest business organization in the country.

Yao identified these companies as Yerciler Et Mangal Ve Sut (which is engaged in food, milk sausages and meat products); Zorlu Holding (home textile, textile, electronics, IT and energy); Cem Matbacilik Ve Davetiye (publishing and printing, special papers for cards and for all occasions); Fatih Hose (chemicals); Ballioglu Insaat Ve Taahhut (construction and contracting); Vendeka Group (IT, defense and surveillance, toll system); and United Towers Philippines (work and travel, internships, university placement, language school abroad).

Also participating in the business matching activity on June 11 are Hismar-Istanbul Gida Teks.Ins.Ve Yapi Mar. Tic. San. Ltd. Sti. (construction, shopping mall, food and supermarket management); Emlak Ve Dis Ticaret (real estate, property of foreign trade); Cagatay Elekt. Malz. (electrical supplies and contracting; Nevsat Orme San. Ve Tic.A.S (textile yarn and fabric dye), Ego (investor); Huseyin Toraman, Tuncay Cebe, Rahsim Silahli (steel, fabricators and erectors); Aykut Ucar (chemicals and raw materials), Murat Kececi, Technopian (software and IT); Ozar Group Chicken House, Alacati Ice Cream, Doner and S&L (foods and consumer products, importer).

As of end 2013, Turkey’s exports to the Philippines stood at $135.5 million, while imports from the Philippines came in at $181.2 million in 2013.
