CONTEMPORARY dining table and chairs at Furnitalia

For more than 10 years, Furnitalia in Bonifacio Global City, has been the country’s premier Italian luxury furniture store, carrying about 30 international furniture brands. At its 10th anniversary in 2012, the celebration was held in the newly renovated Furnitalia building, with a gala titled “Decennio” or 10th in Italian.

Chi Wing Lo, multiawarded architect and interior designer, headed the team that executed the grand design. The renowned architect also has a furniture line from Giorgetti.

Florence Ko, Furnitalia’s managing director and co-owner, along with her husband William, recently toured me around the three levels of their spacious and brightly lit showroom. The beautifully appointed furniture showcases were all astounding.

Different vignettes

A visit to Furnitalia gives valued clients time to enjoy the different vignettes, while in-house designers assist with moving furniture around to better visualize the items together. Furnitalia also offers clients detailed drawings and specs on their floor plans to make sure the layout is done perfectly.

Furnitalia’s Italian brand partners include Giorgetti, Penta, Fiam Export, Poltrona Frau, Molteni & C, Fontana Arte, Roda, Serralunga, Atalia, Cassina and Flexform. Its iconic building has been in the Fort area for many years, predating the newer high-rises that have sprung up. It has been a favorite destination of design and furniture enthusiasts with over a thousand items of merchandise in 2,500 square meters of showroom space spread across three stories.

A new brand joining the Furnitalia portfolio is Calligaris, a dynamic furniture company that makes furniture and furnishing accessories that have practical and delicate forms that are never too aggressive. Calligaris has a wide choice of chair and table models to satisfy all the needs of contemporary living. Elegant and decorative armchairs, sofas with pure clean lines, low storage units for living room and bedroom and table-desks perfect for the home office are now available at Furnitalia.

One of the biggest

Last April, Furnitalia attended the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, one of the biggest furniture shows in Italy. Its Italian brand partners all had amazing showcases in the fair with their latest creations in home furnishings. This year’s collections were tremendously unique and will surely delight Furnitalia’s stylish clients.

At the 2014 Salone del Mobile, the collections of Giorgetti offered a wide variety of furnishing solutions and aesthetic proposals. Versatility and quality are the main themes on which the company and designers have worked to emphasize the eclectic soul of Giorgetti and to offer the luxury of timeless objects. They are up-to-date products that, by eschewing fashions and formal banality, bring out the refined, exclusive and unmistakable character of the company.

Their products were presented in a space of over 800 square meters at the Rho exhibition center. Concealed in an enclosure with a particular lamellar curtain, the Giorgetti world was made up of warm and minimalist rooms where the new designs emerge, like a melody, from the aesthetic silence of large rooms.

The structural elements of the exhibition space reflect the distinctive signs of the brand: Wood is offered in all its purity, beauty, lightness and is placed alongside glass and textiles.

BEAUTIFUL leather furniture and furnishings at Furnitalia Showroom

A range of elegant options

The Poltrona Frau showroom at the fair presented several leather options. It centered on a decorative take on the Massimosistema sofas and armchairs. Along with the 100-percent leather upholstery already in the catalog, there were a range of elegant options combining leather and fabric.

New dimensions for the collection included chairs with and without armrests, chaise-lounges, and interesting furniture pieces. All these items will be showcased in Furnitalia this year.
