Beer Below Zero targets US market
MANILA, Philippines—Beer Below Zero is set to extend its products and services to the United States this May 2014, after successfully capturing the Asia-Pacific market following its aggressive regional expansion in 2010.
Considered as one of the most sought after food and beverage value-added services, Beer Below Zero currently has more than 600 outlets in the Philippines, and more than 200 in international markets including Guam, Hawaii, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Chile.
Beer Below Zero involves technology that enhances the taste of beer by serving it at the optimal temperature.
The company invented a specialized freezer that cools beers right above its freezing point of -8 degrees Celsius, which is said to be the ideal state that enhances the crispiness of its taste.
The freezers and technology are both patented in the Philippines, two patents for design and two for utility models.
“We are excited to be bringing our 100-percent Filipino invention to the West. Our company wants nothing more than to establish the Philippines as the country that serves the coldest beers. Though we are committed to increasing our company’s global presence, we aim to maintain the brand’s identity as distinctly Filipino,” said Luigi Nuñez, president and CEO of Beer Below Zero.

One of the objectives of Beer Below Zero is to add to that list by making the Philippines the top source and destination for revolutionary refrigeration technology for extremely cold beers,” added Nuñez.
Nuñez, together with fellow entrepreneurs and partners, Vinson CoSay and Jay-Jay Angala, founded the company in 2008 and has since then created a demand for beer refrigeration technology. Aside from producing freezers for commercial establishments, Beer Below Zero has also produced small beer freezers for personal use as well as a mobile application that records users’ daily beer consumption.
