How much time does the average person spend in the bathroom daily? Is it 30 minutes or, if my own guess is right, something closer to an hour? Whichever time is right, we all spend a lot of it in the “CR” and therefore, when looking at properties, we should take the design of the sanitary fittings into account.
Bathroom fixtures have evolved through the years and today the options and designs are limitless. Grohe, the global leader in premium sanitary fittings, is now available in the country, via its recently opened, luxurious showroom aptly named “Spa.”
Grohe Spa is in Desigño Atelier, right in the vicinity of the bustling commercial hub of Eastwood, and just a stone’s throw away from the area’s exclusive villages and enclaves. Showcasing a wide array of premium products to the Filipino market, the Grohe Spa is the biggest in the Philippines, virtually at par with its predecessor showrooms in Milan, New York, Paris, London and Singapore.
The Grohe Spa at Desigño Atelier is their flagship showroom in the country. At the opening, guests included Michael Fuchs, cultural attaché of the Federal Republic of Germany; Bijoy Mohan, Grohe president for Asia-Pacific; William Belo, president of Wilcon Builder’s Depot, the exclusive distributor of Grohe; and Alpha Ang, Grohe vice president for Southeast Asia.
The showroom was designed by Manny Samson and Associates, the award-winning interior designer firm. Inside are wonderful displays of all the different styles of fixtures and fittings. A total of nine areas allow visitors to experience fully what the brand offers. The areas include such names as Brand Path, Aqua Zone, Tailor-Made Showering, and my own favorite, Live Water Area.
Alen Alban, Grohe country manager, told me that at Grohe, quality is a given, and performance and care are both part of the equation. The brand recently won the RedDot Design Team of the Year.
Joralyn Ong, Grohe sales director, showed me the personalized combinations of the Grohe F-digital Deluxe. The perfect shower and spa is bathing in a most luxurious fashion. Features from its product range, including light modules, showerheads and steam nozzles, are all built-in for a wonderful shower experience.
The Aqua Zone offers a glimpse of how perfect one’s daily ablutions and rituals can be. Guests revel in its cool luxury, starting from Preparation to Rejuvenation, Relaxation, and finally Recreation. They showcase the ultimate in bathroom products from double basins to sleek faucets, showers, body jets and bathtubs.
In this zone, Grohe Blue is installed in the kitchen. This provides the homemaker with potable drinking water from the tap, filtered and chilled to quench thirst anytime.
In Area 6, Grohe displays shower systems and cabinets. Among the standouts are Atrio, with cylindrical details on the handles; Allure Brilliant Mock-Up, inspired by the designs of Shanghai; and Veris, the embodiment of sensual minimalism. Featured cabinet designs include EuroCube, Concetto, Lineare, EuroStyle and Eurosmart Cosmopolitan.
The Spa also has a relaxing customer lounge. This is the best place to mull over which Grohe products will best fit the property you have in mind. I can see that architects and interior designers will use this place for meetings with their clients, and there is even a conference room for larger groups. Just call it the CR when you want to talk about CRs.
