One of Cebu’s most expensive addresses rises on a hill
METRO Cebu’s next priciest location is the 128 Nivel Hills Residences which will soon rise.
As jewellers, Carlos Yeung and his wife Mariquita Salimbangon-Yeung are perfectionist and it’s this attention to detail that makes their work so coveted around the world. The same could be said about Philippine Ambassador to Portugal Philippe Jones Lhuillier, chair of the country’s largest pawnshop chain.
“This is why when the three decided to join forces to build 128 Nivel Hills Residences, a high-end development on Cebu Veterans Avenue, Nivel Hills in Lahug, they had to be impressed with what would be presented to them,” recalled Diamond Hiland general manager Nestor Omar Arce-Ignacio.
Diamond Hiland Inc., a new player in the real estate industry, was formed by the two top conglomerates—MSY Holdings Inc. and PJ Lhuillier Group owned by the Yeung and Lhuillier families, respectively.
Arce-Ignacio said: “Together they put up P4.9 billion for this project so this development must be no less than impressive. Considering this is Diamond Hiland’s first project. We planned on creating an iconic address, the reason we partnered with the award-winning Australian group Crone Partners that came up with the ‘shifting ovals’ design for the three structures (34-story East Tower, 42-story West Tower and 8-story Garden Residences) of the project.”
250 m above sea level
He said the development, which is located on an 8,470-square-meter land, 250 meters above sea-level, will have units that offer spectacular panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains.
“There’s the majestic mountain ranges of Langga and Cabalasan in the northwest, Budlaan nature sanctuary in the northeast, Mandaue City in the east, the Mactan Channel and Mactan Island in the southeast and the rest of Metro Cebu in the southwest,” he said.
Arce-Ignacio said that in terms of political power, quality of life, economic activity and knowledge and influence, Metro Cebu is second only to Metro Manila as the most important city to the country’s rich.
He said: “And those buyers who are looking for somewhere to live and want to be in Metro Cebu will surely consider 128 Nivel Hills Residences. We will offer a total of 557 units, 237 of which are in the East Tower, 306 are in the West Tower and 14 are in the Garden Residences.”
According to Arce-Ignacio, seen as future residents and investors are local executives, the new rich, young professionals, families of expatriates and businessmen from Metro Manila.
One-bedroom units will have 65-70 square meters in size; two-bedroom units 106-130 sq m; three-bedroom units, 170-200 sq m; the posh garden apartments, 250-300 sq m; and four-bedroom units, 380-396 sq m. Prices will range from around P8 to 50 million.
Topnotch amenities
Considering that 128 Nivel Hills aims to pamper its future residents and guests, the development will offer topnotch amenities that include ballroom-like function room, mini-theater, toddlers’ play area, business center, study room, swimming pool and pool bar, and residents’ lounge. Aside from a two-level retail and service shops (located at the Garden Residences), there will also be an exclusive 10th-floor amenity area that includes a swimming pool.

The 128 Nivel Hills Residences, which is already undergoing construction, is expected to be completed in 2017.
