Club Paradise the perfect getaway

We are a country of 7,000 islands, so we should be boasting more about some of our best islands. Many of these are blessed with white sand beaches that attract tourists from all over the world. And many of these are found in Palawan, which for sure will be hosting the next beach destination island.

I recently had the good fortune to visit Dimakya Island, better known as Club Paradise and recently acquired by The Discovery Leisure Company, the hotel and resort management company that is part of the Discovery World Group. Club Paradise joins their portfolio, which includes Discovery Suites, premiere serviced residences in Pasig City; Discovery Country Suites Tagaytay, a plush Bed and Breakfast; Discovery Shores Boracay, the award-winning tropical retreat; and the soon-to-open Discovery Primea in Makati City.

Discovery is already bringing their distinctive service levels to Club Paradise, based on their brand mantra “Service That’s All Heart.” It will be great to see how Discovery improves Club Paradise over the next months.

Club Paradise is the perfect hideaway for those who seek relaxation, adventure and discovery. The island resort is blessed with a 700-meter stretch of sun-kissed, soft, white beach, and its turquoise waters serve as a sanctuary to a wide array of unique flora and fauna.

Club Paradise is nestled at the northern tip of Busuanga Island off Palawan, just an hour’s flight from Manila. There are so many new resorts cropping up all over Palawan, but Club Paradise is one that has built its name and reputation over several years already.

The main draw has traditionally been the unique scuba diving, with “dugong” (manatee) areas nearby as well the Kyokuzan Maru, one of many Japanese wrecks from World War II around the area. Club Paradise is listed in Forbes Traveler Magazine’s Top 10 best Scuba diving sites in the world.

Guests can choose between three types of rooms. Sunset and Sunrise Beach’s architecture make for charming and modern accommodations inspired by the Filipino hut or “bahay kubo,” while the Island View Rooms are apartment-type rooms and junior suites. Built on a hillside fronting the island’s natural lagoon, an atmosphere of utmost privacy and tranquility pervades, with amenities designed for comfort and convenience. The resort also has a bar, restaurant and a swimming pool, with leisure activities such as bottom fishing, a Calauit Wildlife Safari Tour, a Coron Island Tour, diving and snorkeling.

The resort currently has an ongoing promo, “All About Love” Package—a dreamy, three-day-and-two-night romantic escape in beautiful Coron. The package includes a sumptuous buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner for two for two days, a romantic private dinner arrangement with a bottle of wine, a couple’s massage at the spa, and land and boat transfers from and to the Busuanga Airport.

Another way to experience Club Paradise is through the “Island Escape” Package, which is also a three-day, two-night package. Both packages have special lean season (June 16 to Oct. 15) and peak season rates. Hailed as one of the Top 25 Hotels For Romance in the Philippines by TripAdvisor in its 2014 Travelers’ Choice Awards For Hotels, Club Paradise is the perfect hideaway.
