PCPPI profit hits P903.5M
Beverage-maker Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI) grew its net profit last year by 6 percent to P903.5 million, attributed to a double-digit growth in sales volume, stable input costs and manageable operating expenses.
Sales volume was up by 20 percent in 2013, boosting gross revenues by 16 percent to P26.4 billion. It was the second consecutive year that PCPPI recorded a double-digit growth, the company said in a statement.
Both the carbonated and non-carbonated beverages segments contributed to the 20-percent growth in sales volume.
“Our focus on increasing our distribution across the country has been a key driver of our top-line growth. As such, we are pleased to have outperformed industry growth for another consecutive year,” outgoing PCPPI president Partho Chakrabarti said.
Gross profit for the year reached P6 billion, up by 13 percent from the previous year.
Operating expenses, despite the high capital expenditures, remained “manageable” at the same threshold as in 2012. Doris C. Dumlao
