US firm targets more sales in PH

MANILA, Philippines—US-based Cummins Inc., an industrial goods designer, manufacturer, distributor and service provider, said that its distribution business is set for double-digit growth in the Philippines and the rest of Asia-Pacific (Apac) as economic activity in these markets expands.

Gino Butera, executive managing director of Cummins Inc.’s distribution business in Asia-Pacific, said in a briefing that the company was looking at a turnover of $1.2 billion this year, up by 32 percent from last year.

Of this expected turnover, the Philippines is seen contributing $30 million, up by 16 percent from last year, according to Nestor Martin C. Marfori, general manager of Cummins Sales and Service Philippines Inc. (CSSPI).

CSSPI is celebrating its 10th year as a wholly owned subsidiary and exclusive distributor of Cummins products and services in the Philippines.

Howard K. Park, director and general manager of the distribution business unit for Korea and the Philippines, said Cummins products and services are present in key sectors such as construction, power, mining, manufacturing and even rail systems.
