STI opens new campus in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines—The STI education group has opened a P500-million academic center in Caloocan City, expanding its geographical coverage and making room in its system for  9,000 more students in the coming schoolyear 2014-15.

The brand-new 11-story school facility was built by STI Education Services Group Inc. on a 14,409-square-meter property on Caimito Road, publicly listed parent firm STI Education Systems Holdings Inc. disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Monday.

This STI Academic Center Caloocan had a soft opening in January and held classes for 3,350 students enrolled for schoolyear 2013-14. The new building is now designed to hold room for more students in the coming schoolyear in courses under Information and Communications Technology, Business & Management, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Arts and Sciences and Engineering.

“The successful completion of our campus in Caloocan reflects our efforts to expand our network, reach more students and remain competitive. The size of the campus in Caloocan is apt for many potential students in the densely populated city,” STI president Monico Jacob said.

“Our newest campus affirms our commitment to be one of the best institutions offering quality education through the improvement of our facilities. This, in turn, increases the value of education that we offer and improves morale and the quality of life for our students,” he added.

Encouraged by the favorable operations of STI campuses in Global City, Naga, Fairview, Alabang, Novaliches, Malolos and Ortigas-Cainta, STI is continuously investing in such facilities to scale up its nationwide educational network.

STI is currently constructing academic centers in Calamba, Cubao and Lucena, where operations are expected to begin within the year.
