Eighteen British educational institutions are set to arrive in the Philippines next month to encourage more Filipinos to pursue studies in the United Kingdom.
In a statement, the British Embassy in Manila said the delegation would include the Cambridge Education Group, Hult International Business School, London School of Commerce, Northumbria University, Study Group, University Of Bedfordshire, University Of Kent, University Of Northampton, University Of Reading Malaysia, University Of South Wales, University Of Sunderland, University Of The Arts London, University Of Warwick, and the University Of West London.
City University London, Richmond – The American International University In London, Staffordshire University and the University of Wolverhampton will be first time Philippine exhibitors.
Representatives from these universities will participate in the annual Education UK Exhibition.
“Having a degree from a UK university is a mark of prestige the world over. Students are taught with the world’s best teaching and research experts and exposed to dynamic, innovative and multi-cultural learning environments. Each year, the UK welcomes international students from 200 nations with more than 5,000 Filipino students spread out across the British Isles,” the British Embassy in Manila said.
“Pursuing an education in the UK is within reach and affordable compared to the usual destinations favored by many Filipinos,” it added.
Depending on one’s focus, length of study and course option, a postgraduate course normally takes only one year to finish while an undergraduate course can be completed in three years.
Also, UK degrees are now made more accessible through transnational education arrangements in the Philippines and nearby countries Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. These degrees can be completed fully in these countries or partly in the United Kingdom. Amy R. Remo
