MAP names president for 2014

MANILA, Philippines—The Management Association of the Philippines has named Gregorio Santillan Navarro president of the group for 2014.

Navarro, who will be the 65th president of MAP since its inception in 1950, is the managing partner and CEO of Deloitte Philippines, Navarro Amper and Co., and president of Deloitte Philippines Outreach Inc., the association said in a statement yesterday.

Navarro is also president of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center Inc.; a member of the Board of Visitors of the Philippine Military Academy; and Fellow of both the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA).

The incoming MAP president is likewise a member of the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards Council, a trustee of Cibi Foundation and former president and current treasurer of The Carl Jung Circle Center Inc. (CJCC).

According to MAP, Navarro’s expertise in public accounting was augmented by his 10-year experience as senior executive at Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Company of Manila Inc., where he handled engineering and estimating, business development, procurement and international marketing.

Navarro has an Accounting degree from the University of the East and obtained the second highest overall rating in the CPA licensure examinations of October 1976.

Navarro will lead the MAP in 2014 along with board members Tomasa H. Lipana, Donald Patrick Lim, Romeo L. Bernardo, Benedicta Du-Baladad, Teodoro S. Del Mundo Jr., Alfredo E. Pascual, Carlos S. Rufino and Peter Wallace.
