MGS Construction, R-II Builders bag contract to develop Taguig lots

The consortium of R-II Builders and MGS Construction has bagged the contract for the long-term lease and development of the Pamayanang Diego Silang (PDS) commercial lots in Taguig City, according to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

Nena D. Radoc, chair of BCDA’s Asset Disposition Program committee, said the agency came to a decision last week to award the contract for the development of the 5.2-hectare prime property on C-5 road to the lone bidder.

Two other firms, Filinvest Land Inc. and Robinsons Land Corp., previously expressed interest in the project, but did not push through with their respective bids.

BCDA is now preparing for the signing of the contract with R-II Builders and MGS Construction sometime this month.

Pamayanang Diego Silang is said to be a prime location for the development of a commercial complex. It is located near a number of residential condominium developments, such as Acacia Estates, Grace Residences, Rosewood Pointe, Royal Palm Residences and Cypress Towers.

Aside from general commercial use, the property can be developed into general residential use, general institutional use, and parks and recreation use.

The lease period for the site is 25 years. It will start once the contract has been signed. The contract can be renewed for another 25 years, upon agreement of all parties concerned.
