When inspecting property developments, buyers look intently on the finishes of the building as well as the bathroom fixtures. The bathroom? Yes, the bathroom is way up there in importance, according to the research statistics.
We Filipinos are obsessive about our cleanliness and probably spend inordinately more hours per capita in our private space as compared to other nationalities. Thus, our bathrooms must not only be functional, they should be stylish as well.
When it comes to shopping for bathroom stuff, there are several shops around the city that provide a wealth of finishing options. One of these is The Tile Gallery (www.tilegallery.com.ph).
Started by entrepreneurial brothers Kenneth and Raymund Hing in February 2005, The Tile Gallery was established to meet the growing demand for high-end and top-of-the-line designs of Italian and Spanish ceramic, homogeneous, porcelain tiles for residential and corporate use.
Now in its eighth year of operations, the company provides Pinoys the highest quality, state-of-the-art tiles, with hundreds of designs to suit every possible taste and price level. Kenneth is The Tile Gallery’s president, while Raymund focuses on sales. Thanks to the efforts of the two, the company has grown and now has three branches.
The latest branch is a showroom at 221 Nicanor Garcia St. in Makati City. I was happy to be invited to the event, together with Makati city councilor Ma. Concepcion Yabut and Italian Amb. Massimo Roscigno, who joined the Hing brothers for the ribbon cutting.
The affair highlighted a display of dressed-up vignettes by renowned designers in their field of expertise, such as my fave designer Rajo Laurel, entrepreneur Sonja Ocampo of Sonja’s Cupcakes, and renowned architect/restaurateur Carlo Calma. The well-attended event turned out to be a memorable, fine gathering and fellowship of family, friends and the industry’s big names. Checking out the various tiles and fixtures were top-notch architects and interior designers, as well as representatives from prestigious Italian brands who flew in for the affair.
At the Nicanor Garcia showroom, customers can find the pristine product lines of prestigious Italian bathroom fixtures, from brands like Antonio Lupi, Zucchetti and Idea. There are also brands from various other countries around the world. Online shoppers can also check them out on Facebook or follow them at @tilegalleryph on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
