As the morning light breaks out into the sky, M Lhuillier, a non-bank financial service company, had shone out to give help to the victims of Yolanda (international name Haiyan) in areas found along Borbon, Tabogon and Bogo Cebu last November 16, 2013.
This is already the company’s second stretch of providing relief to the residents of the northern part of Cebu. Based on initial efforts conducted the Sunday after the tragedy, officers were moved and urged to conduct rippled campaigns.
According to employees who attended the relief operations, “It will take more than one or two operations to pacify the cries for help of our brothers and sisters who are trapped in the dilemma of surviving the days that would follow”. Immediate relief is what the people needs right now.
Now, more than addressing basic commodities, addressing the need of love ones who would want to send funds to their friends and families gravely affected by the tragedy is ML’s greater concern. As days come, more ML branches that were also affected by the typhoon are coming back to life and are now pumping funds to receivers.
The general manager for Visayas-Mindanao, Arne Jude S. Millares, said that “we are executing all possible means to allow and sustain the flow of funds from our branches to our customers waiting in our pick-up locations.” He also added that “he is enthusiastic that thru the cooperation of the community in maintaining order, we are able to expedite the release of each kwarta padala transaction.
This is just the first phase of ML’s plans that contributes to the rebuilding of the affected regions of Cebu and as well as those of Leyte, Samar, Iloilo and the rest. As of future course of action, it is M Lhuillier’s aim to have all affected branches operating normally in a much sooner pace able and ready to serve every distressed and recovering Juan de la Cruz. Remember that giving HELP even in the smallest ways have the greatest of value.
