MANILA, Philippines – Samsung Electronics Philippines donated $1 million to help with recovery and rebuilding efforts in provinces, particularly in Central Visayas, heavily damaged by supertyphoon “Yolanda” (iternational name: Haiyan).
The money was given to the Philippine Red Cross, the ABS-CBN Foundation and World Vision.
Volunteer Samsung employees, which include service engineers, will also provide on-ground assistance in the disaster areas.
Samsung Philippines also expressed its deepest sympathies to the Filipinos shaken by the disaster.
